Our Focus Areas
At GeED, we turn vision into action by empowering individuals, transforming mindsets, and strengthening communities. Our work is rooted in the belief that true development can only happen when gender equality and human rights are at the heart of every process.
We operate across the Centre, Littoral, and West Regions of Cameroon, with a strong presence in schools and local communities. Our approach is collaborative, inclusive, and focused on long-term impact.
YOUTH EDUCATION

GeED works through gender, peace, and human rights in clubs in schools to build positive personalities in both boys and girls.
Holiday booth camps during holidays and different extracurricular activities are used as a strategy to prepare them for their active participation in developmental issues in the future.
GeED also organizes Young Women Leadership Gender Talk Shops as an empowering space for future female leaders.
GENDER AND HUMAN RIGHTS

Social justice is a vital tool to use in laying a solid foundation for proper sustainable development.
GeED uses gender and human rights-based approaches in carrying out planned activities in the field. As mentioned earlier, GeED promotes human rights and peace education in schools, communities, and groups.
GeED protects and promotes the basic rights of all persons in the community, especially youths.
ADVOCACY WORK
Gender mainstreaming into different processes is one of the major goals of GeED. The organization works to ensure that gender perspectives are not treated as an afterthought but are integrated into every stage of planning, implementation, and evaluation. This approach helps create fairer systems and ensures that the specific needs, voices, and experiences of women, girls, and youth are taken into account alongside those of men.
GeED continues to play a vital role in lobbying and advocacy by working with policymakers, government institutions, and community leaders to shape gender-responsive policies and programs. Beyond advocacy, the organization also contributes to monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of these policies, identifying gaps, and recommending adjustments that make them more inclusive. Through this work, GeED actively promotes accountability and drives sustainable change, ensuring that development efforts truly reflect the principles of equality, justice, and human rights.
